Diana Liberto Grove

President and CoFounder of Shifting Gears

I am the president and co-founder of π‘†β„Žπ‘–f𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 πΊπ‘’π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘ , 𝐼𝑛𝑐., established January 2025 with my friend, Nicole Blanchard, also a foster mom. Seven years ago, my husband Garth Grove and I became foster parents with the intent to help an often overlooked age group ... π‘‘π‘’π‘’π‘›π‘Žπ‘”π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ . Because we were shown a multitude of love and support by our family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and the Bel Air, Maryland, community where we reside, we began to rely on that support system to help us serve foster teens not placed in foster homes.

Now, it is time to go π‘π‘–π‘”π‘”π‘’π‘Ÿ. To do more. Reach more. Achieve more. Help more. I have teamed up with an outstanding group of people to create π‘†β„Žπ‘–f𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 πΊπ‘’π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘  - people who share my deep passion for this motive; kind people who want to make changes for these teens as I do. Our mission is to transform the lives of at-risk young adults by providing personalized support, guidance, life skills training, and innovative programs while in foster care, and continuing that same support after these kids age out - or exit - the foster care system in Maryland.

𝐇𝐨𝐰? We will empower youth to successfully "shift gears" into adulthood and help them to secure safe and stable housing. We will empower them to "take control of the wheel" to steer their stories, overcome challenges, unlock their potentials, and build brighter futures.

𝐖𝐑𝐲? Because we believe that 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 young person deserves the opportunity to be in "the driver’s seat" as they create a fulfilling life, regardless of their previous experiences.
