Artist
Pamela Wilde is a native of Chicago, but has called Maryland “home” for over thirty years.
Pamela received her formal training at the Chicago-based American Academy of Art, and graduated with a degree in Advertising Design and Illustration.
Pamela works exclusively in oils. Working from life, memory, imagination and reference. Pamela began painting at age twelve under the tutelage of her mother and has gone on to study with several renowned mentors.
Pamela is available for commissioned portraits.
Visit pamelawilde.com to see her vast collection of both commissioned and non commissioned work.
Pamela is best known for her community portrait project, Portraits from Havre de Grace 2018-2019. Over the span of one year Pamela sat down with over one hundred members of the community for live alla-prima portrait sessions. A collection of 120 12x12 oil paintings was created and later exhibited at Artists Emporium in Havre de Grace 2019, World Trade Center Baltimore 2019, and Maryland Hall for the Arts Annapolis, virtual 2020.
Pamela has gone onto create several more community portrait projects to include, Quarantine 2020 and Epic Eyes 2021.
Pamela’s most recent accomplishment , “Art from the Soldier”, is currently on exhibition at the Yumi Hogan Art Gallery @ The Baltimore Washington International Airport through April 30, 2025. This exhibit features ten portraits of veterans that are also artists. Pamela not only painted their portraits but curated four group exhibitions of their work. This exhibition will be exhibited next in at the Columbia Art Center in November of 2025.
This exhibition was created in gratitude to those who have stepped up to serve our country and to cast a bright light on the talents of our veterans.
Pamela is currently completing her next collection titled , “Boots on the Ground”. Exhibition of these works are currently in the planning.
