A LovLi Life of Hope with Teresa Leet

What happens when a pregnant woman wants to carry her baby but lacks stable housing, dependable resources, or someone who believes in her? Teresa Leet and LovLi Life are building a community designed to make sure she does not face that decision alone.

Teresa is the founder of LovLi Life, a faith-based nonprofit whose name represents a powerful invitation: Love Boldly and Live Intentionally. Drawing from more than 35 years of personal experience, Teresa discusses surprise pregnancies, parenting, adoption, mentorship, identity, and the difficult choices that shaped her mission.

In this conversation:

  • Learn about the 11-week Embrace Grace program
  • Hear why mentorship and practical life skills must work together
  • Understand how LovLi Life continues supporting mothers after birth
  • Explore how healthy identity can change future generations

love the podcast, the author, pitch, talking about her book. And with her nonprofit, okay, I have to get her on this podcast to talk about

Teresa Leet 0:41
it's like,

Rich Bennett 0:41
the nonprofit, lovely life. And I love the way that lovely is spelled, but I'll have her get into that. I am joined by Tammy Wingroove because I'm on baby watch. So she's here. Those of you listening, if you go back to the episode with Nicole, you'll understand what I'm talking about. But we have Teresa with us today. So hey, don't Teresa.

Teresa Leet 1:05
Hey, I'm doing better than I deserve

Rich Bennett 1:08
it,

Teresa Leet 1:08
Ramsey says.

Rich Bennett 1:10
I'm sorry, Tammy, you know, I had to go there.

Tammie Wingrove 1:13
the podcast suddenly drops, we know that we have all rushed off to the hospital, but it's not going to happen. We're

Teresa Leet 1:19
If

Tammie Wingrove 1:20
still weeks away.

Rich Bennett 1:24
If you jinxed us, then yeah, you're gonna be in trouble. Tammy, it's all yours.

Teresa Leet 1:30
Hi, Tammy.

Tammie Wingrove 1:31
Hi, Teresa. It's great to have you on here.

Teresa Leet 1:35
Thanks.

Tammie Wingrove 1:35
I'm excited to talk about lovely life. So I have been curious about the name.

Spelled. Can you get into that with me and tell me where did this come from?

Teresa Leet 1:49
So lovely life. Lovely is spelled L-O-V-L-I. And the L-O-V in it stands for love boldly. The L-I is live intentionally. So that's why it's spelled L-O-V-L-I and it's something that's been on my heart for a long time. And I thought, well, I think that's the name we're going to go with. And a funny story is I initially when we were going to do the website, I got the URL lovely dot life. What's the question everybody asked me? What is it dot org? Is it calm? Is it dot net? No, it's dot life. So I ended up switching that. So now it's lovely life. org. So it's more user friendly and people know how to find it and don't have to ask that question.

Rich Bennett 2:32
That is nerve

Teresa Leet 2:32
rate.

Tammie Wingrove 2:34
Yeah, they're waiting for the next part like lovely dot life dot, like

Teresa Leet 2:38
Exactly.

Tammie Wingrove 2:38
no, no more dots. Nothing else.

Teresa Leet 2:39
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 2:40
I noticed that when I went to get because the other podcast has it took off. And he's going so well. It's like, OK, now secure domain name, which of course the author pitch dot com is already taken. So what's the next thing it recommends the author pitch dot yoga mama.

Tammie Wingrove 2:59
Oh,

Rich Bennett 2:59
I'm

Teresa Leet 2:59
what isn't

Rich Bennett 2:59
like,

Teresa Leet 3:00
that

Rich Bennett 3:00
that's

Teresa Leet 3:00
a tire?

Rich Bennett 3:01
yes, but it's like what? But then when you look at all the different things you can get

Teresa Leet 3:07
extensions.

Rich Bennett 3:08
Yeah. I was like, OK, this is just. Weird. And it's like, I wonder if there's a podcast with, but how many people are going to look for that?

Teresa Leet 3:16
Right.

Rich Bennett 3:16
A dot podcast? You're right that you'd see your dot net dot org or dot com.

Teresa Leet 3:20
It's, it's how we're programmed.

Rich Bennett 3:22
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 3:22
So

Tammie Wingrove 3:22
Right. That's

Teresa Leet 3:23
I'm

Tammie Wingrove 3:23
what we know.

Teresa Leet 3:23
giving the people what they want.

Rich Bennett 3:25
Alright, so when did you actually start lovely life

Teresa Leet 3:30
and why? How much time do we have? So the formation of lovely life started over 35 years ago, well, in advance of me knowing that this is where it would land.

Rich Bennett 3:44
Wow.

Teresa Leet 3:44
And what I mean by that is through my life experiences. And what I was privileged enough to live through. is what created lovely life and the desire to be able to help other women who I was one of that lovely life now helps. And having gone through that experience I can now connect and relate to the women that we're helping. And I'm not here to tell you that I know everything that they need because I don't. I know what I needed, but that again was over 35 years ago. So who I'm serving today looks very different, although I think that the mental bandwidth of what they're dealing does not look different. I don't think that that has changed. And so I knew that taking all of those experiences that there was going to be something for good to be able to help others, and lovely life came to be two years ago. We actually filed for the domain. And then my husband and I went through the process of getting a 501-C3, getting the tax exempt status. The federal exempt status came pretty quickly.

Rich Bennett 4:52
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 4:52
The state exempt came almost a year. And so it was pretty frustrating. So anybody out there that is looking to start a nonprofit I will tell you that link arms with somebody who has already done it from grassroots. So that you don't have to go through all those pains that that we went through. But yeah, that's what burst it. And I mean that on purpose.

Rich Bennett 5:13
People don't realize how hard it is to start a nonprofit. And then once you do start it to keep up with, because once you get that you know this, once you get that

Teresa Leet 5:28
5103

status. Then

Rich Bennett 5:35
there are requirements that you have to do every year. You have

Teresa Leet 5:38
$4.

Rich Bennett 5:40
99

Teresa Leet 5:40
with not

Rich Bennett 5:41
money or not.

Teresa Leet 5:42
It's

Rich Bennett 5:42
amazing how many people don't realize it or don't even do it.

Teresa Leet 5:47
Yeah, yeah, because they find out that you know, it's not going to be easy. I mean there were two women that I met with yesterday morning. And they both run their own nonprofit organization. And both of them have a heart to serve. But they do not have a business mind. And so they're doing everything on their own. They don't have anybody helping them with anything and they're funding it on their own. I'm not going to fall into that because what's been laid on my heart is that what we are doing with lovely life needs to be scalable. Which means that we need to take this across the country. The foundation is going to be birthed here, housed here, the foundation of it here. And then it's going to go across the country. So

Rich Bennett 6:33
you, when you form that 510c3 and you file,

Teresa Leet 6:36
when

Rich Bennett 6:37
I think what's it? One of the

Teresa Leet 6:38
first things they

Rich Bennett 6:38
ask you who's on the board.

Teresa Leet 6:40
Right.

Rich Bennett 6:41
And there are. There's a lot of 510c3s out there that don't even have a board. It's like you're not a 510c3. I'm sorry. Tammy. Look. I already

Teresa Leet 6:49
over.

Rich Bennett 6:49
took

Teresa Leet 6:49
He's the co-host people.

Tammie Wingrove 6:53
But it's all really good points because I think so many people have such a heart for wanting to

Rich Bennett 7:00
Yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 7:00
serve. But they don't realize the steps. So I think that even, even kind of getting into that a little bit for people who are kicking around ideas. It's not just you pop up and say I'm here to help.

Teresa Leet 7:12
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 7:13
Well, and that's one of the things I tell people to like if you want

Teresa Leet 7:16
start

Rich Bennett 7:16
to

Teresa Leet 7:16
from a 510c3

Rich Bennett 7:17
and you don't know what goes

Teresa Leet 7:19
into it.

Rich Bennett 7:20
Look at something like was it I think community foundation of Harvard County. I think it is where you

Teresa Leet 7:26
chat. TFT.

Rich Bennett 7:27
Well, no. No, there's like other ones where you can like because a lot of times people just want to start a nonprofit for it to do a scholarship or whatever.

Teresa Leet 7:37
Right.

Rich Bennett 7:37
You can align

Teresa Leet 7:38
yourself with the nonprofit. Sure. Collaborate. Yes.

Rich Bennett 7:42
Yeah. Because that way because you're and you're right a 510c3 is still a business.

Teresa Leet 7:48
You at 100

Rich Bennett 7:49
You

Teresa Leet 7:49
percent.

Rich Bennett 7:50
there are

Teresa Leet 7:52
requirements

Rich Bennett 7:53
required.

Teresa Leet 7:55
the state

Rich Bennett 7:56
And

Teresa Leet 7:56
and

Rich Bennett 7:56
from the federal government, especially if you want to get grants.

Teresa Leet 8:00
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 8:01
And you know how important grants are.

Teresa Leet 8:03
Well, for us along those lines, we're not going to be pursuing any grants because grants are a golden handcuff. And we don't want to be told to do who we can serve, how we can serve them. And that's just the place that we're at. We also don't want to be donor dependent,

Rich Bennett 8:22
what

Teresa Leet 8:22
right. You know, they're all these nonprofits. They're constantly asking for money and not that we don't need money. I mean, everybody needs that in order to run their organization. But it's how you go about getting it and funding the organization. And so with my coaching business, a portion of all of those proceeds goes back to fuel and feed lovely life. So they all go hand in hand. I'm serving the same person in different seasons of their life.

Tammie Wingrove 8:49
But like you said before we started recording, your coaching does go hand in hand because when you're starting with over here with lovely life, your meeting women right where they need to be met and kind of the core need, even if it was 30 some years ago versus today in 2026, it's the need inside of them I would imagine is still the same and then other needs are so different. The world is so different but you can meet them

Teresa Leet 9:17
where

Tammie Wingrove 9:17
are and you have so many things that you're offering

Teresa Leet 9:20
they

Tammie Wingrove 9:20
to each of these to these women. So so how does this start? Someone by a woman finds herself in need, she's expecting a baby trying to make decisions, she knows that she's going to see this she's having this baby, she reaches out to you, someone in her circle reaches out to you all and and then you come alongside them, what's the what's the process.

Teresa Leet 9:43
So the hardest part for us in this process is getting to the woman before society does or before the boyfriend does or before the husband does or before their friends do and what I mean by that is 67% of the women who have an abortion, and I call it fetal homicide, I call it what it really is. Abortion goes in one ear and out the other because it's so used today but before their friend gets in their ear, 67% of these women want to have their baby but they don't have the resources to have it and they don't have the support to have it and so without those two things simultaneously linked up for them in order for them to bring this child into the world what are they going to do. And we want to get to that woman really before she even gets pregnant to know that we are a resource. It's not to condone the behavior that leads to the we call it a surprise pregnancy

Rich Bennett 10:45
because

Teresa Leet 10:45
it's not unplanned by our creator, it is a surprise to them, it's a surprise to him. And if we get to the woman before that happens when that does happen or when their friend comes to them and says "Oh my gosh, I went out with Jimmy Joe, it was a one-night stand, I got pregnant, I'm not going to have this baby," or the case that I hear all the time, I was raped, which is less than 1% represented in abortions anyway. If we can get to her before that time, then we have done our work. Where we're normally getting our leads from is through choose hope, through alpha's glory, some social workers who are aware of us, I actually got a call from a mental health worker who had somebody in their office. So we're getting leads from these different avenues and not every woman that comes to us actually needs housing. So we have a model that's called Cherished Host Homes and we actually have a vacancy right now. And this is a home, ready, it's already been vetted, they've gone through the application and background check process with us to be able to accept a woman in who is single and pregnant and wants to carry her child to term. So we have a vacancy now, that is our model. In the future we will end up having our own home, but right now that's not where we were led, we were led to do this so that more handsome feet can be engaged in helping the community.

Rich Bennett 12:11
You're very faith based aren't

Teresa Leet 12:13
you? 100%.

Rich Bennett 12:14
I love that.

Teresa Leet 12:16
100% and I don't shy back from it. I don't. You know you can believe what you want to believe. You can think what you want to think. You can be pro life. You can be pro choice. We are pro love.

Rich Bennett 12:26
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 12:27
So if this woman has already decided that she really wants to have child, we want to love on her, we want to love on that child because it will change future generations and it will break strongholds that this young woman has been carrying with her, to be able to help not only her, but her child. So now her child is coming into an environment that is loving and caring and nurturing and not settling.

Rich Bennett 12:52
Yeah. Wow.

Teresa Leet 12:54
It's much deeper than just the mom and the child.

Tammie Wingrove 12:58
Right. You're setting them up so that the environment is completely changed. The baby's coming into something the mom feels I'm sure so much more empowered and still terrified because in any time you welcome a baby, you're still terrified but it's you have that safety net and that you're empowered and you have a community and it sounds like you're building that community between the resources that they have within their family, but also what you're providing and you're giving them education and mentorship and what does the mentorship or they want on one with different people or how does how does that work?

Teresa Leet 13:34
So the mentorship is depending on what they need in that moment because mentorship and life skills are two separate paths. With mentoring, this is a young woman who is Maybe she's been pregnant before and and has decided to carry this time So we will have a woman who is coming alongside her who is equipped to help her in raising a child How do you care for yourself while raising the child? What does it look like to raise a child on your own and? So that we don't sugarcoat it because it's not easy It's not easy. I mean, I had my my first child at 28 years old and then I had twins after Wow Couple years later. So it it's not easy and we will never romanticize this whole idea is it worth it? 1,000 percent

Rich Bennett 14:27
yeah

Teresa Leet 14:28
it is so worth it and What I have found is that there are a lot of women who have decided to carry their child and we don't want to ever judge Why they're carrying it, but what I have learned is that most of them are carrying a child Because they know that child will love them unconditionally, and they've never had that in their life and

Tammie Wingrove 14:47
feeling that void

Teresa Leet 14:49
Yes, but at the same time that's putting an incredible amount of pressure on this child

Tammie Wingrove 14:55
Absolutely

Teresa Leet 14:56
and especially when the child gets older so we want them to have a healthy relationship with themselves Know their worth walk in it unapologetically claim it

No longer settle and then pass that along to their child and in doing that they are They are changing generations. They are breaking strongholds and curses that have been in the family probably for decades

Rich Bennett 15:22
How often do you guys stay in touch with the women that have already gone through and had the babies?

Teresa Leet 15:28
we Stay in touch pretty regularly and by regularly it really they're the ones that are curating how much they want us to stay in touch right We have a woman who just went through the embrace grace program. She gave birth six weeks ago and

We have obviously been staying in touch with her. We're doing a meal train for her because it's just her and her fiance And they don't really have a whole lot of support so we want to come alongside them and Create a meal train to feed them But she is doing fantastic. She is one I'm mark my word now I won't say her name, but she is one who I know is going to link arms with lovely life and probably be a spokesperson for us Nice Because she is Incredible she at one point was practicing witchcraft and now she is Out there as a an ambassador for Christ Just that transition when you think that there is no hope. I love the name hope when you think there is no hope This this there is hope She is gonna I told her it's a journey on stages. I don't want to scare you right now But your testimony is going to speak Volumes to people that need to hear what you've been through

Tammie Wingrove 16:45
and it's so important for them to see Today, this is this this young woman right now She went through with the program. She's a Perfect example a great example of there's there's hope There's hope and there's a lovely life that can come from this for not only the baby But yourself your fiance and like you said you're you're the circle just it keeps going and you're changing generations And so I was going to ask you if I know that you're you're only your two years into the foundation So not a ton of time for turnover, but are you your seed some that you know? Okay, you'll be back you'll be able to be a mentor

Teresa Leet 17:28
think

Tammie Wingrove 17:28
and I Great because as they graduate from the program They're still part of it and they can pass it along and share that wealth of knowledge and just keep spreading it and it helps with They already know that you're

Teresa Leet 17:41
there Yeah,

Tammie Wingrove 17:43
that way everyone it spreads to more people is that spider web of That person knows and they're spreading it to another one. They're more prepared to To help more more women

Teresa Leet 17:54
sure sure And you know, that's really our hope is the experience that they go through with us we want them to pay it forward and The women when they come to us you know they've been told this certain thing probably all their lives You know, you're not worth it. You're never gonna be good at anything Nobody's ever going to love you or if they're in an abusive relationship I'm the best that you're gonna get. I don't know why you would ever want to leave and I'm telling you right now Ladies, that's not true and I'm Getting on your throats men you need to man up and treat a woman the way she deserves to be treated you need to cherish her Love her and if you don't know how to do that Get a mentor for yourself

Rich Bennett 18:37
Because

Teresa Leet 18:39
we need to bring back the family unit. We've got an enemy.

Rich Bennett 18:42
Gentlemen too. Oh

Teresa Leet 18:44
The gentle man and that I mean that's And you can do it. It doesn't matter if you didn't have that dad figure to show you. You can do it. So, it's, and not every woman, again, needs housing with our programs. The mentorship going back to that. We find out what they need, and then we mentor them on that and, and align them with the mentor that can give them what they need. Maybe they know how to parent. Maybe what they need is now they're gonna get out on their own, into their own home, instead of maybe their couch surfing. How do I manage a home? How do I budget for a home? How do I clip coupons? You know, what does it look like when, the,

Tammie Wingrove 19:26
pay bill,

Teresa Leet 19:27
budgeting. I mean, you know, and that's my, my forte is a financial coach, but I have now changed that whole platform to I'm an identity coach. So I really,

Rich Bennett 19:41
ooh.

Teresa Leet 19:41
Yeah, I really help you to uncover and unveil the worth that your story tried to steal from you.

Rich Bennett 19:49
Oh, I love that.

Teresa Leet 19:51
So you know who you are. And again, walk in your worth unapologetically, and that is for men and women alike.

Rich Bennett 19:57
Wow. I've, I got a minute, I've, I've had a lot of coaches on. I've never heard identity coach, but I love that.

Teresa Leet 20:05
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 20:06
And that's, I think I mean, that's needed a lot.

Teresa Leet 20:10
We have forgotten who we are.

Rich Bennett 20:11
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 20:12
Yeah. We become who we think everybody else is expecting us to be, and we're doing what everybody else is wanting us to do without knowing who we are. And so we have completely forfeited the way we're designed.

Rich Bennett 20:23
And

Teresa Leet 20:24
by doing that, we are not living a fulfilled life.

Rich Bennett 20:27
Yeah. Too many people are trying to be like other people to be yourself.

Teresa Leet 20:31
Right. But we've forgotten who that is. Who, who am

Rich Bennett 20:34
I? Yeah. How many, how many people can even look in the mirror and say they tell them, you know, say, "I love you"?

Teresa Leet 20:41
Oh,

Rich Bennett 20:41
the

Teresa Leet 20:41

Rich Bennett 20:41
best

Teresa Leet 20:41
think

Rich Bennett 20:41
thing

Teresa Leet 20:41
that's

Rich Bennett 20:41
I've ever done to myself.

Teresa Leet 20:43
You brought that up. That is one of the exercises that I do. Really?

Rich Bennett 20:47
Really?

Teresa Leet 20:47
And I actually hosted a small group last summer and it was a women's small group. And one of the exercises I had them do is to get up go into the bathroom and to look in the mirror at themselves in the eye and say, Theresa, I love you. And I just think you are so special and incredible. And then walk away. How many women do you think struggled to do that?

Rich Bennett 21:14
Oh, I'm guaranteeing you a lot.

Teresa Leet 21:17
Yeah. Every one of them. Every one of them because we're not taught to love ourselves, we're taught. Oh, self love, what is that? You don't need to do that. But if we, and it's a cliche, but if we don't know how to love ourselves well, how are we, how will we ever love somebody else? Yup. And so we've got to get back to that.

Rich Bennett 21:35
And

Teresa Leet 21:36
that's...

Rich Bennett 21:36
What's the next time?

Teresa Leet 21:37
Yeah, you do one all the time. Tell yourself you

Rich Bennett 21:39
love you. Yes.

Teresa Leet 21:40
Good for you.

Rich Bennett 21:41
I do. Yeah.

Teresa Leet 21:43
for you.

Rich Bennett 21:44
Yeah. Good

Teresa Leet 21:44
And it's okay.

Rich Bennett 21:45
I mean, I always say something I'm grateful for. I always ask for forgiveness

Teresa Leet 21:51
every

Rich Bennett 21:51
everyday

Teresa Leet 21:51
day for

Rich Bennett 21:53
for me,

Teresa Leet 21:53
me. Yeah.

Rich Bennett 21:54
But it's made me feel so much better.

Teresa Leet 21:56
That's so good.

Rich Bennett 21:56
You know, and a lot of people don't do that. Some people are looking at me and tell me I'm much for doing that. No, I'm not.

Teresa Leet 22:02
You're not for not doing it.

Rich Bennett 22:04
Thank you. Thank you. I have to ask you this. I know it's only been

Teresa Leet 22:09
two years

Rich Bennett 22:10
in, but with the women and the babies or kids. Well, there's still babies in two years, so do you guys do any get-togethers? What would be pic-migs, dinners, Christmas parties?

Teresa Leet 22:27
That would be forthcoming.

Rich Bennett 22:29
Okay.

Teresa Leet 22:30
What we do is at the end of going through and Embrace Crazy 11 week curriculum we give them a free baby shower.

Rich Bennett 22:38
Oh, wow.

Teresa Leet 22:39
Yeah. And so we have them make out a list, you know, an Amazon list, or right now I have somebody that's on her 9th out of the 11th week through the program. Should we graduating 12 August, and we're going to do a baby shower for her then if she makes it. She's already a center meter and half dilated. But we've got an Amazon list, and then she's so good. She said there were some things on Amazon that I think we can go cheaper at Walmart. So she also created a Walmart list and so I've got those lists out there for anybody that wants to engage and help. And so they'll it'll get shipped directly to her because she's also in a sober house. So we're living home, and she is carrying her child. She is going to school for a medical assistant certification, and she has completely turned her life around.

Tammie Wingrove 23:24
That's amazing.

Teresa Leet 23:25
And I just, I love that.

Rich Bennett 23:27
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 23:27
You can do it. You can do it. So for the audience that's listening, if you're struggling or you know somebody that is struggling, poor hope into yourself, fill yourself up with people around you that are encouraging and edifying and will love on you and cherish you and if it's lovely life, reach out to us. We're here. That's what we want to do.

Rich Bennett 23:46
It is. So the graduation is a baby shower.

Teresa Leet 23:49
it

Rich Bennett 23:49
I love that. That is so

Teresa Leet 23:51
is.

Rich Bennett 23:51
cool.

Teresa Leet 23:52
Yeah. And eventually we'll end up doing a like a princess party for the mom. So we'll have somebody come in and they'll do their hair and somebody will do the makeup and maybe it's like a makeup or a mommy makeup.

Rich Bennett 24:03
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 24:04
a but it engages the community so that it's not just a handful of people. You know, people that have different guests. You do not want me doing your makeup. I mean right now all I have on is eyeliner so you can see my eyes. Right? You do not want me doing your hair. I mean look what happens. I got

Rich Bennett 24:20
Purple

Teresa Leet 24:20
purple hair.

Tammie Wingrove 24:20
hair

Teresa Leet 24:21
Oh

Tammie Wingrove 24:21
is

Teresa Leet 24:21
I do too. But I just

Tammie Wingrove 24:23
have to put a picture of some people. She's got cool hair.

Teresa Leet 24:26
Oh gosh. Thanks. Abbey Johnson hair by Abbey and Vel air did it. So thank you.

Rich Bennett 24:31
Abbey you do my beard? I know. I messed up. I did that before.

Teresa Leet 24:37
Oh gosh.

Rich Bennett 24:38
Well, I did

Teresa Leet 24:39
for Santa.

Rich Bennett 24:40
no, 4th of July we were out of party

Teresa Leet 24:43
And

Rich Bennett 24:43
and leaving the air that does hair. I said, hey, you guys think you can make my beard red, white, and blue? And she did. I said, oh, is perfect.

Teresa Leet 24:52

Rich Bennett 24:52
want to get home. She says,

Teresa Leet 24:54
said I want. It's permanent.

Rich Bennett 24:55
you can't wash it. I was like,

Teresa Leet 24:56

Rich Bennett 24:56
what? Yeah. So thank

Tammie Wingrove 24:58
you. Thank you. She should have had

Rich Bennett 24:59
Yeah, I know. Thumb me me. But as a guy closer to

Teresa Leet 25:03
Christmas.

Rich Bennett 25:03
Christmas, thank God it had.

Teresa Leet 25:05
Oh

Rich Bennett 25:06
yeah. So now like every same Patrick's day, I'll do it either green or orange, but I use that stuff.

Teresa Leet 25:14
washes

Rich Bennett 25:14
You just,

Teresa Leet 25:14
out.

Rich Bennett 25:15
Yeah. Yeah. I'm their dummy. I'm not anymore.

Teresa Leet 25:18
You learned.

Rich Bennett 25:18
I was dumb. I'm

Tammie Wingrove 25:19
full.

Rich Bennett 25:20

said, you

Teresa Leet 25:27
really don't reply

Rich Bennett 25:28
for for grants. Your

Teresa Leet 25:31
work that

Rich Bennett 25:31
you're doing as, you're doing as a coach

Teresa Leet 25:33
helps with

Rich Bennett 25:34
donations. Do help.

Teresa Leet 25:36
Absolutely. I mean, we're not going to turn away your money, but again, we don't want to be donor dependent and how are you not donor dependent as a nonprofit? It's you have to figure out another stream of income to bring it in. And so with my coaching, again, a portion of it goes back. The October, I'm doing an event, October 17th.

Rich Bennett 25:58
I was going to ask you what kind of

Teresa Leet 25:59
events do you have events to be? Yeah. So the 17th through coaching, we are doing a truth about lies, women's conference, Rich almost choked on his water.

It is because we, and it's not just women, but this is a women's event because I'm a woman. But we take these lies as our truths and so we're going to unveil and uncover those so that we can replace it with what the reality is, what truth really is. And something important to remember is that feelings aren't facts and thoughts aren't truth. And so we need to kind of filter that when we're thinking

Rich Bennett 26:42
about what we're thinking about. Yeah. Wow. So what else do you guys do? What other things besides that event-wise? I know you're doing a ride, but this is the first year for it, right?

Teresa Leet 26:53
It is.

Rich Bennett 26:54
So is there two years in? Do you think guys going to be an annual thing?

Teresa Leet 26:58
I do. And the two years in, I want to back up on that because the first year is really

Rich Bennett 27:04
your

Teresa Leet 27:04
getting

Rich Bennett 27:04
footing. Right.

Teresa Leet 27:06
We did do an X-Golf indoor golf event in February of 25. And there's a whole lot that went into that. And we've got a, we've got a minimum that if we don't meet this for any events that we're doing, then it's not profitable. We're not going to do it. We can take that time and energy and spend it somewhere else. So we did do that. And we also did a walk run in October of 25, which was successful sort of. It was successful because the community found out who we were and what we were doing.

Rich Bennett 27:39
Yes.

Teresa Leet 27:39
Awareness was built. And that's really the big piece for us is we need awareness. I want to get into Harvard Community College. I want to talk on the radio there because the college students are the ones that are talking to one another when somebody is getting pregnant.

Rich Bennett 27:52
That Terry, get it done.

Teresa Leet 27:55
Okay. All right. I'll reach out to him.

Rich Bennett 27:56
I'll reach out for you.

Teresa Leet 27:57
Okay. Um,

Rich Bennett 27:58
I'm on

Teresa Leet 27:58
but

Rich Bennett 27:58
the board.

Teresa Leet 28:00
Well, shoot then. Okay. I know people that know people. But yeah, I, you know, we just. being able to get in front of the women and the men, you know, the men are a huge influence too. But the sad part about who we're serving is sometimes these women feel like they have absolute, you know, choice. They don't even tell the baby daddy that they're pregnant and then they go and take care of it. And the dad has no idea that there was lost fatherhood. Now they may or may not have wanted the baby, but they never even know about it. I know of husbands whose wives have had abortions without the husband knowing. And then they find out later. But the new phenomena is, you know, with a male-order

Rich Bennett 28:48
pill, t

Teresa Leet 28:49
male-order abortion pill, you can, you can do a virtual consultation and they will mail you the pill. And there was recently in an article, there an officer who gave this pill to his girlfriend. She found out she was pregnant, gave it to her in a drink. She had no idea and she ended up losing the baby. She thought she had a miscarriage, which is what we're saying as society today is, oh, I just had a miscarriage when they've actually, it was intentional. But that's happening all over the place. Men are getting their hands on this pill and they're giving it to their girlfriend or their wives because they don't want another child.

Rich Bennett 29:33
Is this pill legal?

Teresa Leet 29:35
It is. That's,

it is, which just made a fist. It is, really we're living in a culture of death. And the only way to change that is for those of us that believe this child should have a chance is to speak up and to not shy back and to be a louder voice than those that are opposing it. And so again, you know, where lovely life is coming in is the woman that we're serving has already made her decision. We're not getting into that. You know, choose hope is fantastic about that. The Cecil County Pregnancy Center is incredible. The Towson Women Center is unbelievable. You know, Alfa's glory, they're going to those places and they're finding out whether they have a viable pregnancy. And at that point, they're told about lovely life. They're also told about embrace grace. Where it's one of the programs that would do the 11 week program. And then the decision is up to them. So when somebody is reaching out to us, they already know what they want to do. And we're able to love on them and and now find out what's under the surface and help them for longevity and to be a functioning member of society and being able to take care of themselves, to build the confidence through empowerment, to know that they've already got what they need inside them.

Rich Bennett 30:58
Now, do you also work with women say they want to go full-term but give the baby up for adoption?

Teresa Leet 31:05
So if there is a woman who chooses an adoption plan, absolutely, we will work with her. Yes. And we have connections. I have my own personal story, where I had a surprise pregnancy. My ex-husband and I had a failed reconciliation. I got pregnant. And I ended up choosing adoption for that child. And she is just turned 23 years old.

Rich Bennett 31:35
Oh, wow.

Teresa Leet 31:36
So when a woman has a surprise pregnancy, she's got three options, abortion, or fetal homicide, parent, or adoption. I have personally lived all three of those options.

Rich Bennett 31:52
Wow.

Teresa Leet 31:52
And so I can speak, which I did. I counseled in that in that setting, you know, Nikeptan, Nikept, for years. I can speak to that. I know the experience.

Rich Bennett 32:02
None

Teresa Leet 32:03
of them are easy decisions. None of them. But there are some that have consequences that far outweigh the decision that you made.

Rich Bennett 32:11
Right.

Teresa Leet 32:12
That will stick with you that, I mean, you'll have PTSD. They're just all kinds of things that go behind your decision. But consequences are predetermined.

Rich Bennett 32:22
You know what I've noticed so far? Hope keeps coming up a lot.

Tammie Wingrove 32:27
Sure does.

Rich Bennett 32:28
I think we have a name. Possibly, i it's a boy, I don't of hope which worked out, but there

Tammie Wingrove 32:36
was a boy named Sue once, right?

Teresa Leet 32:39
Yeah. I had a friend in school named Kim.

Rich Bennett 32:44
I see a lot of guys named Ken.

Teresa Leet 32:46
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 32:47
Wasn't there a singer named Kim?

Teresa Leet 32:49
Oh, I don't know.

Rich Bennett 32:50
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 32:50
He the funny one

Rich Bennett 32:52
No

Teresa Leet 32:52
on.

Rich Bennett 32:52
lightning strikes. Oh,

Teresa Leet 32:54
God. I don't know. So Tammy is pregnant and considering names and hope was one that came up. And that's why Rich is mentioning. You know, hope keeps coming up in our conversation.

Rich Bennett 33:07
It has been.

Teresa Leet 33:08
Yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 33:08
But it's something the world needs. I not just.

Teresa Leet 33:11
Oh,

Tammie Wingrove 33:11
You know

Teresa Leet 33:12
yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 33:13
individually and it's applicable in our own lives, I think everybody can find something, whether it's the negative self-talk that we all give to ourselves.

Rich Bennett 33:22
Hmm.

Tammie Wingrove 33:23
Who are

Teresa Leet 33:23
you...

Tammie Wingrove 33:24
You're coming alongside them and giving them that hope, that,

Teresa Leet 33:27
yeah,

Tammie Wingrove 33:28
there's something great out there, there's something better out there. And I think with the Embrace Grace Program, even the hope of knowing, you know, okay, I'm going to keep this baby and I'm going to go through this program, you had said that it's 11 weeks. 11 seems doable, this isn't this monster, okay, how long is this, this program going to be, is it, you know, two years, or how long am

Rich Bennett 33:52
Prudency

Tammie Wingrove 33:52
I, you

Teresa Leet 33:53
know...

Tammie Wingrove 33:54
is longer. It pregnancy is longer than then. Then 11 weeks, it's actually shorter than a trimester, right?

Teresa Leet 33:59
There you go.

Tammie Wingrove 34:00
But, but I like hearing that, that so, you're presenting them with the Embrace Grace Program, and so each week is a different subject, or how does that work?

Teresa Leet 34:12
The beautiful thing about Embrace Grace is that the curriculum is already done, is not our program, it's one that we offer. It is based in Hurst, Texas, and it is facilitator-led, so it's video content, and then discussion points, they get a workbook, and they walk through different points of what to There are stories in there about women in the video, women who didn't think they could have their baby in their dream too, and you can. So I'm going to say that again, you can have your baby and your dream too, it just may be delayed. It doesn't mean no, it means not now, and I think that's something that would really encourage somebody to say no, I'm in school, and I'm going from my bachelors or my masters, or they're in high school. I met somebody last night, who was 16 years old, she's got a 25-year-old, and she looks like she's 25 herself, and she said it was hard, but she had support. So we want to support the woman who has limited resources.

Tammie Wingrove 35:18
Teresa, give us the website, do you have social media handles, how do we find you, how do we reach you, get in touch with you.

Teresa Leet 35:26
So all of those things, so the website is lovely.

And then our handles for Facebook is lovely life, and Instagram is lovely, underscore life ministries, or lovely life, underscore ministries, something like that. I don't know, I don't do the social media stuff, somebody else

Tammie Wingrove 35:51
you'll

Teresa Leet 35:51
does,

Tammie Wingrove 35:51
find her something like that somewhere,

Teresa Leet 35:53
something like that.

Tammie Wingrove 35:54
And you also have your book, Chasing Easy

Teresa Leet 35:58
in a life of hard choices, yes.

Tammie Wingrove 36:02
Multiple books,

Teresa Leet 36:04
well the other books are more journal ed,

Tammie Wingrove 36:07
okay.

Teresa Leet 36:08
But yeah, the chasing easy tells my whole story. So the subtitle is "Failed Marriage is Unplanned Pregnancies and the God Who Restores." And it takes you on my personal journey, and why I can say truly that I'm an expert in this arena, because not only have I lived it, I've been helping women in this area for well over 35 years. I didn't just get into this space. And so my story alone, in the back of the book, there are lots of resources. So one of the resources is a list of, what does it look like if I parent, what does it look like if I choose adoption. And there's a checklist, which is the checklist that I created for myself when I was faced with that surprise pregnancy. And it can be very helpful. Now, no AI was used in that book, and that was four years ago when it released. So I could probably go back through that, put it through AI, and it would be 100 times better, but it won't be my voice. And so what you're getting in that book is raw, my voice. There are some hard chapters in there. And there's some fun ones too. You know, what I think chapter 2 is, "The Gift of Menor." What the heck?

Tammie Wingrove 37:19
It's a

Teresa Leet 37:21
gift. It's a gift. And then there's one chapter where I talk about hard boiled eggs. You know, if

Rich Bennett 37:27
you've ever-- Menor and hard boiled

Teresa Leet 37:28
Yeah!

Rich Bennett 37:28
eggs.

Teresa Leet 37:29
If you've ever made hard boiled eggs. And you go to peel them, right? There's a whole metaphor around that.

Rich Bennett 37:38
We just need some matches.

Teresa Leet 37:40
Yeah,

Rich Bennett 37:41
God.

Teresa Leet 37:41
yeah. Oh,

Rich Bennett 37:43
My

Teresa Leet 37:43
kids know when I'm-- anybody knows when I'm doing del dags. As soon as I walk in the door. They

Rich Bennett 37:49
ease ol' bay on 'em.

Teresa Leet 37:50
I have done ol' bay. I have done jalapenos.

Rich Bennett 37:54
Oh.

Teresa Leet 37:55
Crab.

Rich Bennett 37:56
Oh.

Teresa Leet 37:57
So yeah. Yep.

Rich Bennett 38:00
Crab-- Oh.

Teresa Leet 38:01
Crab.

Rich Bennett 38:04
Sorry.

Tammie Wingrove 38:04
Crab.

Rich,

Rich Bennett 38:06
Crab.

Tammie Wingrove 38:07
this surprises me. You haven't tried crab in a devil dig.

Rich Bennett 38:10
Not that I know.

Tammie Wingrove 38:10
Licious.

Teresa Leet 38:12
Yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 38:12
Oh yeah. Gotta have some

Rich Bennett 38:13
it.

Tammie Wingrove 38:13
crab in

Rich Bennett 38:13
Anything.

Tammie Wingrove 38:14
Sometimes we tap ours with a little bit of paprika.

Teresa Leet 38:17
I do the smoked paprika.

Rich Bennett 38:18
Yeah, well he's gotta be smoked.

Tammie Wingrove 38:19
Yeah. Oh yeah.

Teresa Leet 38:20
Yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 38:21
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 38:23
Go ahead.

Tammie Wingrove 38:23
Well, that's all right now.

Rich Bennett 38:24
Because I'm getting hungry.

Tammie Wingrove 38:26
I'm ready if I should have brought some devil eggs.

Teresa Leet 38:28
Yeah, you should have brought your Shakuta Reboard.

Tammie Wingrove 38:30
Next time,

Rich Bennett 38:31
go.

Tammie Wingrove 38:31
there we

Rich Bennett 38:31
We're her crab bread.

Teresa Leet 38:34
What?

I guess we'll talk about that offline.

Wow.

Tammie Wingrove 38:40
Maybe I'll make it for a baby shower.

Teresa Leet 38:42
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 38:43
Oh, it's a.

Tammie Wingrove 38:45
Oh, and the baby showers. The sauer

Rich Bennett 38:47
do bread.

Tammie Wingrove 38:48
Sorry. I was. Yeah. Yeah. That's some. Some crab.

Teresa Leet 38:50
He's still on that and we're talking about a baby shower.

Rich Bennett 38:52
Sorry. Go ahead.

Tammie Wingrove 38:54
For the baby showers, you offer them at the end of the 11 weeks. The community can get involved. Is

Teresa Leet 38:59
Absolutely.

Tammie Wingrove 38:59
there a way that, you know, someone who wants to reach out and provide gifts or and you said that it's online, but how are what other ways you have a where you have the showers or even if someone has a venue that they want to offer for some of your showers? Are you open for any type of donations or help and contributions?

Rich Bennett 39:21
Taking the wish list public.

Teresa Leet 39:23
Oh. So I haven't done that. So I'll answer your question before I get into the solutions.

We will host it normally. It's at Freedom Church because with this program with Embrace Crazy, it has to be vetted through a church. So the ideal is that we host it at the church for this one that's coming up because she's in sober living. We're it's I call it a dry buy baby shower. So we'll be delivering the gifts or if somebody orders from the wish list, it'll go directly to her. I'm still going to go there and deliver a cake and some balloons and things like that. To get involved, you just simply reach out to lovelylife. org or you can send an email to info at lovelylife. org. And I can share if we have active participants, I can share with their wish list are. And if you want to get involved, there are committees for the baby shower. There's somebody else that's over that for events. That's on the board for lovely life, but you can absolutely get involved if there's somebody that has a venue for a baby shower. I'm open to that. So the more people that know about what we're doing, the more hands that get involved, the more that this woman loved. And case in point in that, the last woman that graduated, who had her baby a week and a half ago, she said, I thought you guys were just doing this because you had to.

Rich Bennett 40:41
Wow.

Teresa Leet 40:42
And I said nobody is doing this because they have to because she thought that once the 11 weeks was over, it was done nothing else. We have stayed in touch. And that 11 weeks was over probably two months ago. We have stayed in touch. So it's not a one and done for us. But again, they will manage the communication. They will let us know like we have reached out. And as we can come see the baby or when she would be open to visitors and she's not open to visitors yet. And we respect that and we honor that. She's okay with food drop-offs and we'll do that. But you know, they manage the communication. Not us. But yeah, we're involved as involved as they will allow us to be.

Tammie Wingrove 41:20
Oh, that's great. It's up to them. And

Teresa Leet 41:22
It is.

Tammie Wingrove 41:23
you know, what they're comfortable with. And I think just for the baby shower celebrations, there's so many local businesses within the area that I could see wanting to get involved. And if each one helps in a small way, there's so many ways that we can help love on these. These moms and these babies that are coming in the families and just really give them that that uplift that they need and set them up for a great start to this baby. And their new life is whatever their family looks like and what that family unit is.

Teresa Leet 41:56
And I would also invite folks, you know, go on to our Facebook page like and follow and share. We're at 299 followers now. I would love to see that number go up past 500. Actually, I would like 10,000 followers. But we'll start small. You know, I'll start with 300. And you can go on to the website and ask to be part of our newsletter distribution. So we distribute that the 15th of every month. And you'll get to see all the things that are going on. And we have started posting that now on the website. But you can get firsthand knowledge about what's going on, what's coming up with the events are where we need help. We need volunteers. We need mentors, women who are great at running a household. Women who are incredible moms. We right now are actively seeking a director of development, who goes out into the community to develop. And then we're also seeking a treasurer. And those are one is a board position, which is the treasurer. The director of development is a paid position. And then we also need a volunteer coordinator, which is a volunteer. So those are three needs that we have right now.

Rich Bennett 43:04
Right.

Teresa Leet 43:05
That we would love to get filled.

Rich Bennett 43:07
Which goes to prove from a point again when you have a nonprofit, you have to have a

Teresa Leet 43:13
board

Rich Bennett 43:13
board and a

Teresa Leet 43:14
and a third position.

Rich Bennett 43:14
is important.

Teresa Leet 43:15
Yeah. This

Rich Bennett 43:16
Can't do it all by yourself.

Teresa Leet 43:17
Nope.

Rich Bennett 43:18
Can't do it all by yourself.

Teresa Leet 43:19
And we have a board of six, uhm, we actually have a spiritual overseer. She was our latest onboarding for the board. She is a prayer warrior. I'll tell you what. You know, you can't succeed in what we're doing and not have somebody covering you.

Rich Bennett 43:36
Yeah.

Teresa Leet 43:38
So, yeah, that was, that was our latest board on boarder. But we still have the two positions that are open there.

Rich Bennett 43:47
Good.

Tammie Wingrove 43:47
That's great. And then for the mentors.

Teresa Leet 43:50
Yes.

Tammie Wingrove 43:52
Mom, if you are listening, did you hear her say running a household, you're talking like budgeting and paying bills, things like

Teresa Leet 44:00
that? Mm-hmm.

Tammie Wingrove 44:02
Just saying, mom.

Teresa Leet 44:04
She's calling you out, mom. This is your

Rich Bennett 44:05
Ow.

Teresa Leet 44:05
daughter Tammy, but yeah.

Rich Bennett 44:08
Yeah. Mom's going to contact me, say, doing never let her host

Tammie Wingrove 44:11
again.

Teresa Leet 44:13
And if you want to talk to me directly, it's Theresa T E R E SA at lovelylife. org. We'll take your questions. I'll, I'll take your donations. I'll take your suggestions. Or if you just want to have a conversation or if you're somebody who has been impacted by the woman that we're serving. Or if you were that woman, and you have a story to share, and you want to share your testimony, we would love to have that too.

Tammie Wingrove 44:39
Will there be another book that is the testimonies of these women? Because you're going to start collecting some really cool testimonies.

Teresa Leet 44:47
Here she is giving me another book.

Rich Bennett 44:49
Oh, no, I have an idea about that. I'll run it by when we're

Tammie Wingrove 44:53
finished.

Teresa Leet 44:53
So the next book that has been laid on my heart is the reconciliation of the woman, young woman who I chose adoption for. There's a whole story with that and how we reconnected, which is an absolutely beautiful story. So I think that that the next book that may be part of a collection of testimonies.

Rich Bennett 45:16
Yeah, sounds like you're going to have to come on the other podcast and talk about that when you pitch that one again.

Teresa Leet 45:22
Yeah,

Rich Bennett 45:22
or pitch that one too.

Teresa Leet 45:24
Yeah, okay. it? And then

Rich Bennett 45:26
Will

Teresa Leet 45:26

Rich Bennett 45:26
you

Teresa Leet 45:26
have,

Rich Bennett 45:27
finish

Teresa Leet 45:27
you know, some journals that I've got out there and, and I'm working on something right now that. That is something that will probably be licensed to sell across the country.

Rich Bennett 45:37
She's apparently she's going to be on both shows a lot.

Tammie Wingrove 45:41
I think so.

Rich Bennett 45:42
Yeah, I know,

Tammie Wingrove 45:43
I see in a lot more of her.

Rich Bennett 45:44
Yeah,

Teresa Leet 45:44
Good stuff, good stuff.

Rich Bennett 45:46
absolutely.

Tammie Wingrove 45:48
Number,

Rich Bennett 45:49
yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 45:49
Okay, so we do pick a number one through five. Okay, to start with, you have a lot of choices. First

Rich Bennett 45:56
all,

Tammie Wingrove 45:56
of

Rich Bennett 45:56
don't tell her the choices.

Tammie Wingrove 45:58
No, no, no, no, I'm said, well, you only have to make two choices, I guess. The first choice is pick a number one through five,

Teresa Leet 46:05
four,

Tammie Wingrove 46:05
okay. Now pick a number 61 through 80,

Teresa Leet 46:14
60. Because you said 61. Look, she was looking for it.

Tammie Wingrove 46:19
Come

Teresa Leet 46:20
I've

Tammie Wingrove 46:20
on. already got pregnancy brain.

Teresa Leet 46:24
you

Tammie Wingrove 46:24
Are

Teresa Leet 46:24
not on there?

Tammie Wingrove 46:25
Trick question. Number 60 is actually on this page. It's just in the other group.

Teresa Leet 46:30
Oh, it is.

Rich Bennett 46:31
Yeah, but it does count as in group three.

Teresa Leet 46:32
Ah, all right. Let's do 63.

Tammie Wingrove 46:38
63.

Rich Bennett 46:38
That was a good year.

Teresa Leet 46:40
Yeah, I was born too.

Tammie Wingrove 46:41
There you go. I was so close to being born in that.

Rich Bennett 46:45
You think about it?

Something that a lot of people do not

Teresa Leet 46:51
do.

Rich Bennett 46:51
get to

Teresa Leet 46:52
We turn the same page of you.

Rich Bennett 46:59
I mean, think about people that were born in like the 90s.

Teresa Leet 47:02
Yeah,

Rich Bennett 47:03
yeah.

Tammie Wingrove 47:04
Wait, you turn the same age as the year you were born.

Rich Bennett 47:08
Right, we were

Teresa Leet 47:08
So

Rich Bennett 47:09
both.

Teresa Leet 47:09
I'm 63 right now and we were born in

Tammie Wingrove 47:11
Oh,

Teresa Leet 47:11
63.

Tammie Wingrove 47:13
oh, yes. That's like so much. My mom just turned 70. And she is, she wore a shirt all weekend. This past weekend that said, I lived through the 60s twice. And I thought, oh, I can't, oh, I can't wear that. Because I--

Rich Bennett 47:28
[LAUGHTER]

Tammie Wingrove 47:28
And then I thought, oh, well, I could do it. I lived through the 80s twice. My galley, I'll be 100. So--

Teresa Leet 47:34
[LAUGHTER]

Tammie Wingrove 47:35
But yeah,

Teresa Leet 47:38
there you go. Don't make me do math.

Tammie Wingrove 47:40
I'm just looking to see if

Rich Bennett 47:41
I think

Tammie Wingrove 47:41
there's

Rich Bennett 47:41
there's blinds.

Tammie Wingrove 47:41
blinds. Little bit of blinds, sometimes.

Rich Bennett 47:44
[LAUGHTER] Do you remember the number?

Tammie Wingrove 47:46
63.

Teresa Leet 47:48
[LAUGHTER] Yes,

Tammie Wingrove 47:48
it was a great year.

Rich Bennett 47:49
Yes.

Tammie Wingrove 47:50
Yes. Almost as good as 84. [LAUGHTER]

Rich Bennett 47:53
people are this

Tammie Wingrove 47:54
is just. Oh. Number 63. If you could instantly acquire one new skill or talent, what would it be?

Teresa Leet 48:06
Oh boy,

one new skill or talent.

Singing.

Tammie Wingrove 48:15
Oh!

Rich Bennett 48:16
Why?

Teresa Leet 48:18
I just sing with all my heart and it's horrible. And so I would love to be able to sing because then when I go to worship sets, I will feel like I've got something to contribute. I know why I can't sing. I mean I know why I don't sing in public. I would show off. I would totally show off. I'd be somewhere just singing my heart out. And so I can't, we can all sing. I don't have the voice to sing. My husband is an incredible singer. My daughter is an amazing singer. When my kids were four years old, the twins in the van in the back. And I'm singing the veins popping out of my neck in my forehead. I think I've got it going on at four years old. They said, "Mom, please stop." Please stop. And so

Tammie Wingrove 49:06

Teresa Leet 49:06
I'm

Tammie Wingrove 49:06
feel your pain.

Teresa Leet 49:07
like, "Okay, so I can't sing." But that's what I still sang.

Tammie Wingrove 49:11
Good

Teresa Leet 49:11
But

Tammie Wingrove 49:11
for you.

Teresa Leet 49:11
on purpose at church, I'm in the very front row so that I don't hurt anybody's ears in front of me so I can still sing with all I have.

Tammie Wingrove 49:18
There you go. Let me

Rich Bennett 49:19
hear. Here's my question though because you said the veins are popping out of your head. What were you singing metal?

Teresa Leet 49:26
Yes,

Rich Bennett 49:27
Yes.

Teresa Leet 49:27
it wasn't crunge but...

Rich Bennett 49:29
What were you singing?

Teresa Leet 49:30
I don't remember.

Rich Bennett 49:31
You were putting some feeling

Teresa Leet 49:32
that.

Rich Bennett 49:33
into

Teresa Leet 49:33
I think it may have been Judas Priest.

Rich Bennett 49:34
Oh, okay.

Tammie Wingrove 49:37
You were raising your children right.

Teresa Leet 49:39
Your dorm right, I was.

Tammie Wingrove 49:40
You loved that.

Teresa Leet 49:41
You got another thing?

Rich Bennett 49:44
That was always going to be my theme song if I became a now. Yeah, it was always going to be my theme song if I

Teresa Leet 49:49

Rich Bennett 49:49
became

Teresa Leet 49:49
singer.

Tammie Wingrove 49:50
I love

Rich Bennett 49:51
You've

Tammie Wingrove 49:51
that.

Rich Bennett 49:51
got another thing coming.

Teresa Leet 49:52
Yeah.

Rich Bennett 49:54
Yeah,

Teresa Leet 49:54
I'm going to see you on WWF or is it?

Rich Bennett 49:56
WWV now. Oh, god, no. My body couldn't take

Tammie Wingrove 50:00
that.

Teresa Leet 50:00
Yeah,

Rich Bennett 50:01
not a shot. Teresa, I wouldn't thank you so much. Tammy, you did good. Those of you, yes, I'm so, well, Theresa, now you're also on Babywatch now. Apparently, everybody comes in while the teammates co-hosts it. We're all on Babywatch.

Teresa Leet 50:16
Okay, I'm on Babywatch

Tammie Wingrove 50:17
on Babywatch.

Rich Bennett 50:18
Anybody listening to your babywatch?

Teresa Leet 50:23
You'll

Tammie Wingrove 50:24
have to put something out now like when the baby comes, people are, I'm sure, going to just be dying to now.

Teresa Leet 50:29
Of course they are. Like we've been on Babywatch, but what's happening?

Rich Bennett 50:32
Yeah, when is hope coming?

Teresa Leet 50:34
Hope. There you go.

Tammie Wingrove 50:35

Tammie Wingrove 50:36
could be

Rich Bennett 50:37
a could be or Dean

Teresa Leet 50:38
or Dean or Dean.

Rich Bennett 50:40
Wow, Tammy did a hell of a job guiding this conversation with Teresa. And what stood out to me most was the meaning behind lovely life. Love boldly and live intentionally. Those words are more than a name. They describe Teresa's mission to walk beside pregnant women who have chosen to carry their babies, but may lack stable housing, practical resources, encouragement or strong support system. Through chairs, host homes, mentorship, life skills education, the embrace grace program and continued support after a baby is born. Lovely life is helping women build confidence, recognize their worth and create healthier futures for themselves and their children. Teresa reminded us as a portion never be a one and done gesture. It means meeting people where they are, respecting their choices and boundaries, and continuing to show up for as long as they welcome that relationship. Her own experiences give this work an honesty that cannot be manufactured. Teresa has faced difficult choices, lived through painful chapters, and found purpose in sharing what she has learned. That same honesty is found in her book, chasing easy in the life of our choices. And in her work as an identity coach, helping people uncover the worth. Their stories may have tried to steal from them. One message kept returning through this conversation, hoop, a difficult season does not have to become the end of someone's dream. Sometimes the dream may be delayed or take a different path, but with love, community, faith and the right support a new future is still possible. Thank you Teresa for speaking so openly and for the work you and everyone at Lovely Life are doing. And thank you Tammy for stepping into the host chair and leading such a thoughtful and meaningful conversation. To learn more, request support, volunteer, become a mentor or contribute to the mission, visit lovelylife. org, and I'll make sure I have the link in the share news. And if this episode brought someone to mind, please share it with them. That one simple act could help a woman discover that she does not have to face her circumstances to learn. Until next time, I'm Rich Bennett. Thanks for listening and remember, every great conversation starts with someone willing to listen and someone willing to share. Now it's your turn. Join the conversation by sharing this episode, leave in a comment, or reaching out to me directly. Take care, be kind to one another and I'll talk with you again soon.
