Eric Corbridge: How Broken Hearts Inspire Happy New Dreams

What if everything left behind after a breakup ended up in one thrift store? And what if that store became the setting for a hilarious comic book about heartbreak, friendship, and second chances?

On this episode of Conversations with Rich Bennett, Rich and co-host Piper Thomas welcome Eric Corbridge, a Harford County native, retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant, and creator of the independent comic series Badwill.

After serving 22 years in the Air Force, Eric pursued an unexpected creative passion. What started as an idea during a tennis match became a 10-episode sitcom script and eventually a comic book series featuring a thrift store that accepts donations from failed relationships.

In this conversation, you'll discover:

• How Eric's military career and personal experiences influenced his storytelling.
• The unusual inspiration behind Badwill and its memorable characters.
• How he transformed television scripts into independently published comics.
• Why humor, heartbreak, and second chances make compelling stories.
• The importance of trusting your instincts and pursuing creative ideas.

Eric also discusses working with illustrator Haley Micheisek, bringing Harford County into his fictional world, and his hopes for future adaptations.
